Southern Turkey is always a surprise letting your imagination run riot at the amphitheatre at Aspendos, scaling the heights to experience the mysterious remains of the old City of Termessos before finally heading to Side to watch the sun set behind the ancient temple of Apollo. Combine this with the incredible Turkish hospitality, their wonderful food and crystal clear waters surrounding the coast which all makes Turkey an incredible destination.

It may not have the Modernista masterpieces of Barcelona but architecturally it's unique. To venture into the Plaza Mayor at dawn before the hordes of tourists arrive is an amazing experience and the only time one can appreciate the theatrical atmosphere of the square. From the Royal Palace to the Art Nouveau inspired Edificio Metropolis and the innovative Plaza de Castilla Madrid is an architectural dream add the culinary delights of the restaurants and tapas bars to experience the real Madrid.

With 1,185 islands and 3,000 miles of coastline Croatia is not surprisingly dominated by it’s coastal towns and islands. While Dubrovnik is one of the key tourist destinations in Europe our recent shoot took us to Split and Trogir both beautifully scenic towns with historic centres that will inspire you and with islands off the Dalmatian coast like Korcula and Hvar it’s easy to see why Croatia is rapidly becoming a key tourist destination. It’s still not too late to enjoy the country before it’s overrun with tourists.

We weren't prepared for Lille’s charm which still retains the characteristics of a bygone era. The cobbled streets in the wonderful old town leading to the Grand Place with it’s magnificent Flemish and French architecture and cafes. Next time you jump on the Eurostar jump off at Lille, the museums, galleries and restaurants with their incredible cuisine make Lille a surprisingly accessible destination made more pleasurable by the warmth of the locals.
