Symi with it's beautiful harbour surrounded by Neo Classical buildings built during its more prosperous years when the sponge diving and boat building flourished is now home to the World's wealthy who arrive after a day's cruising in their super yachts to be wined and dined in the numerous seafood restaurants. If you are feeling energetic and want to escape the throngs of tourists you can ascend the 575 marble steps to the old town of Horio with it's meandering lanes and distinctive houses.

The geographic diversity of Morocco from the Atlas Mountains, Sahara Desert, Atlantic Ocean and beyond offers an incredibly photogenic landscape but it’s the cities that continually draw us back to this amazing country. Our latest shoot included three fascinating cities each having their own distinct characteristics. Rabat, the capital, with it’s World Heritage listed Medina leading through to the beach which with it’s surfing heritage resembles the Californian coastline.

The wonders of Gran Canaria ranging from the mountains to the desert and the sea were over whelming and unexpected as were the numerous idyllic mountain villages inhabited by some incredibly warm and friendly local residents. Las Palmas created the perfect base for our shoot with it’s historic and architecturally rich Vegueta district and accompanying tapas bars as we wandered in the footsteps of Christopher Columbus.

With it’s history and traditions one can sense that Crete was the birthplace of Europe’s oldest civilisation, the Minoan culture, which flourished over 4,000 years ago. Many of these traditions are still evident when you leave the tourist resorts behind and head for the small villages in the more mountainous areas of the island where you can happily while away a few hours drinking Raki with the local villagers.
